Owner Spotlight: Q&A with Wed Society Oregon Owners, Teresa Parsons and Kayla Obie

Oregon’s wedding scene is as rich and varied as the state itself—where lush vineyards, dramatic coastlines, and old-growth forests come together to create something truly unforgettable. Now stepping into their roles as the owners of Wed Society® Oregon, mother-daughter duo Teresa Parsons and Kayla Obie are bringing a shared passion for entrepreneurship, community, and the wedding industry to a state they know and love deeply.

For Teresa, family has always been at the heart of everything. A proud wife, mother of six, grandmother to eleven, and self-described “Nannie,” she has built her life around creativity, purpose, and the belief that the best things—in life and in business—grow with patience, care, and dedication. That philosophy has carried her through a long and successful career in television advertising, where she honed her skills in team management, customer service, and developing impactful campaigns for the businesses she served. That experience sparked a growing desire to build something of her own. And when the right opportunity came along—with the right partner—she didn’t hesitate. Together with Kayla, Teresa co-founded Blush Bridal Boutique, bringing a beloved local wedding resource to life. After many successful years running the store, she stepped back to focus on family, travel, and her wellness journey, carrying with her a deep appreciation for the industry and the connections it fosters.

For Kayla, that bridal store was where it all began. Helping her mom run Blush Bridal Boutique sparked an early appreciation for exceptional client experiences and the importance of supporting small businesses—a thread that has woven through her entire career. From there, Kayla built an impressive professional track record spanning the insurance industry, where she developed a strong foundation in commercial sales and management, to more than twelve years in real estate, including serving as a Managing Principal Broker. Throughout each chapter, she has brought the same commitment to leadership, relationship building, and helping businesses and individuals reach their goals. “It truly feels like a full-circle moment in my career,” she shares.

When the opportunity to bring Wed Society to Oregon presented itself, both Teresa and Kayla recognized it immediately as something special. For Teresa, it was a natural convergence of her greatest passions—entrepreneurship, relationship building, and creativity. “A Wed Society Franchise is an incredible opportunity,” she says, “because it combines everything I love.” For Kayla, it was the rare kind of career move that felt genuinely exciting and meaningful. “We spend so much of our lives working, and I wanted to invest my time and energy into something that felt fulfilling,” she explains. Wed Society brought together her years in sales, leadership, and client service with her early roots in the wedding world, and the chance to partner with her mom again made it all the more compelling.
