After planning both of her daughters’ weddings, Kim McBee has gained a deep understanding of the Cleveland wedding scene. Now, she and her daughter Maddie are eager to help local couples connect with the area’s top wedding vendors. With a strong background in Sales, PR, and event planning for major franchise brands, Kim is excited to create her own legacy as the owner of Wed Society Cleveland + Northeast Ohio. To have her daughter work alongside her in this journey is the icing on the cake!
Wed Society: Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Kim McBee: I grew up in Northeast Ohio, and studied Public Relations and Journalism at Ohio State University. My career has taken my family and me to five different states, and I am happily settled back in Ohio with my wonderful husband of 33 years. I have three children, two daughters who just went through the wedding planning process and a son who just finished graduate school. I’m a passionate sports enthusiast, love to travel, enjoy interior design, and spend as much time as I can with my husband, children, and their families.
WS: Tell us about your professional background?
Kim: I have a 35-year career in marketing, primarily focused on growing sales and profits for major brands. I’ve worked with several franchise companies in both the restaurant and tire & automotive industries, partnering closely with both franchisors and franchisees. My background also includes experience with advertising and PR agencies, as well as event planning. Throughout my career, I’ve found real joy and purpose in building and leading high-performing teams that thrive.
WS: What inspired you to become a Wed Society franchise owner?
Kim: I found myself inspired by the incredible relationships and entrepreneurial spirit that come with franchise ownership. More recently, helping my daughters plan their weddings reignited my passion for the wedding industry. It felt like the perfect time in my career to build something of our own—a legacy business rooted in the Northeast Ohio community where I grew up. What I’ve always loved about working with franchisees is the opportunity to support and grow alongside passionate entrepreneurs. Now, I’m excited to take that front-row seat for myself and my family, while building meaningful relationships with local vendors and contributing to our local business community.
WS: What are you most looking forward to in your ownership journey?
Kim: I’m most looking forward to the relationships—both personal and professional—that this journey will bring. I’m excited to connect with and support local vendors, build lasting partnerships, and work alongside my daughter as we grow this business together. Being part of an incredible brand like Wed Society and its supportive community is truly inspiring. I’m especially passionate about helping couples discover top-notch vendors who can bring their wedding dreams to life and create lifelong memories.
