Owner Spotlight: Q&A with Wed Society Charlotte Owner, Taylor Hernandez

Taylor Hernandez, a California native, instantly fell in love with Charlotte the moment she and her husband arrived. She was drawn in by the southern hospitality and the warm, inviting nature of the people in the community. With a true passion for the wedding industry and an entrepreneurial spirit, she is excited to help local couples find the best vendors in Charlotte.  She can’t wait to help make your wedding day beautiful!

Wed Society: Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Taylor Hernandez: I’m a proud mom to twin daughters and live just outside of Charlotte in a charming town called Tega Cay, South Carolina. My husband and I moved here from California in 2018, and we’ve absolutely fallen in love with this beautiful area. One of the things we appreciate most is how easy it is to enjoy both the mountains and the beach—it really offers the best of both worlds. Family means everything to me, and I try to bring that same heart and connection into the work I do every day.

WS: Tell us about your professional background?

Taylor: I started out studying business because I’ve always had an entrepreneurial heart. At the same time, I discovered a strong passion for working with children and helping them learn, explore, and discover new things, so I changed my major and earned degrees in both business and education. For the past 12 years, I’ve been a teacher, and I’ve loved every moment—watching my students grow, building meaningful relationships with families, and connecting deeply with the community.

Recently, I felt inspired to find a new path that ignites the same passion I felt when I first started teaching. That desire led me to become a Wed Society franchise owner, where I can combine my business background, love of connection, and passion for supporting local professionals.

WS: What inspired you to become a Wed Society franchise owner?

Taylor: What inspired me most was the opportunity to blend my love for community connection with my entrepreneurial spirit. After many fulfilling years in education, I wanted to find a new path where I could support local businesses and creatives in a meaningful way. Wed Society’s mission to elevate and celebrate the wedding industry resonated deeply with me because it’s all about fostering relationships, showcasing talent, and helping others grow.

Plus, working in such a beautiful and joyful industry isn’t so bad either—it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of people’s happiest moments and help make their dreams come true. I saw the franchise as the perfect way to use my business and education background to create real value for vendors and couples alike, while also contributing positively to the Charlotte community I love.

WS: What are you most looking forward to in your ownership journey?

Taylor: I’m really looking forward to building genuine relationships with the amazing wedding professionals and creatives in the Charlotte area. Becoming a trusted resource and partner for local vendors is something I’m truly excited about. I can’t wait to help elevate their businesses by providing them with the exposure, tools, and support they need to thrive.

Additionally, being part of a positive, collaborative community where we celebrate each other’s successes and grow together is something I deeply value. Ultimately, I’m excited to contribute to the vibrancy of the local wedding industry while doing work that’s meaningful and fulfilling.
